The two-time European Cup winners ran in three tries in a stunning 33-6 triumph over Leinster to move to the top of the 'Pool of Death'. Christian Wade, Joe Simpson and All Black Charles Piutau - on his European debut - scored the tries.
"This win has got to be up there among the best during my time at Wasps but it merely puts pressure on us to back it up against Toulon next weekend. If anything is going to sober you up, it is the prospect of playing Toulon next week. We know it is a really difficult group and we will have to play outstanding rugby, we just have to back up this win," Young said.
Wasps were never behind in the game and led by 10 points at the break, thanks to try gifted to the fleet-footed Wade after a defensive error by opposite number Dave Kearney. Leinster scored their six points in the first quarter but failed to add to their tally in the final hour of the game.
"It was our day today. We have been here before and been on the wrong end of it and I couldn't have asked any more of the players. The defence was strong, energy levels were high and when we had chances we took them. The players worked their socks off in pre-season for games like that.
"They worked for each other and forced them [Leinster] to make mistakes and become frustrated. We got into the right areas and then made it pay - it wasn't that Leinster played poorly, it was more that we didn't let them play," he added.
