Wasps are looking to spend big ahead of next season.
When The Telegraph last month reported that Wasps were willing to make David Pocock rugby’s highest paid player, fans across the world were taken by surprise.
Indeed, for a few hours at least, it seemed that the Australian flanker would forgo his desire to study in England and instead sign for Wasps next season. However, despite much hype, Dai Young quickly put an end to such speculation.
However it now seems that Wasps have not given up their ambition to sign an Australian international, after Sky Sports last night linked Kurtley Beale with a move to the Ricoh Arena this summer.
Although Wasps fans may get excited at the prospect of seeing Beale partner the likes of Danny Cipriani, Elliot Daly, Joe Simpson and Christian Wade in a dynamic backline, it is worth remembering that the 60 times capped Wallaby signed a contract keeping him at the Waratahs until 2017 last August.
Therefore it is unclear whether or not Wasps will look to buy Beale out of his current contract, or if the player has had a clause inserted into it allowing leave this summer.
